Stop trying to be right – Motivation to be a better listener

Having so many successful guests on the show over recent weeks has forced me to reflect and try to find some commonalities between them, do these high achievers have traits that I can model and action?

One thing that stood out is none of these hugely successfully entrepreneurs, athletes, TV presenters and coaches were on a crusade to be proved right. They were very relaxed in the information they offered and very disconnected with their egos.

This type of vibe feels very different to the one we are exposed to on social media or television where it seems like their is a global pandemic to be right or win an argument.

I have realized that there is more fulfillment to be found in listening to hear rather than listening to respond and simply trying to influence behavior and communicate rather than ‘win an argument’.

If you want to be a better listener, a less ego driven communicator and more influential in your role, strap in.
